I, Vladas Kuzinas, was born on 11th May, 1952 in Vilnius.Till 1984 I worked as a radio technician, mechanic, and stonecutter.
I became interested in blacksmith and work in 1982. In 1984 I began to work at Ironwork Plant 2. I started doing blacksmith and tools, experimenting, learning from other craftsmen and from literature.
In 1985 I began to participate in the exhibitions of Folk Art association. In 1987 I became a member of LMD.
At that time I was already interested in the technologies of forging of Damascus steel. In 1988 I went to study to Russia (Suzdal). My teacher, V.I. Basov, has been the best Russian craftsman.
Since that time, I have begun to work with Damascus steel. Also, I collaborated with Degree of Master of Art J.Stankus, who was working at that time at the Institute of Lithuanian History, department of archaeology. He studies metal and taught me to work with a metallographic microscope.
Since 1988 up till now, I have been cooperating with National Museum – I restore the copies of swords, axes, spearheads and knives. In 1995 I built a creative workshop in Kairėnai.
All this time I have been taking part in various exhibitions in such countries as: Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine. Since 2002 I have been working in the creative workshop in Šatrininkai.
I have a lot of students too. In 2005 I was granted a status of Creator of Art.
Since 2006 I have become interested in Sculptural compositions of forged metal.
In 2009 officially awarded as a Smith of all Smiths' in Lithuania.
